Description

This vibrant Cranberry Jalapeno Dip combines tart fresh and dried cranberries with spicy jalapenos and creamy vegan cream cheese, creating a zesty and colorful appetizer perfect for holiday gatherings or everyday snacking.

Ingredients

Scale

Fresh Ingredients

  • 6 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 3 medium green onions, chopped
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and sliced

Dried and Dairy Alternatives

  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries
  • 8 ounces vegan cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar, more or less to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened vegan yogurt or vegan sour cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cranberry mixture: In a food processor, add the fresh cranberries, dried cranberries, chopped green onions, and sliced jalapeno. Pulse several times until the mixture is very finely chopped and well combined.
  2. Soften and mix cream cheese: Transfer the vegan cream cheese to a medium-sized bowl. Using a hand mixer or a spoon, mix the cream cheese until it becomes soft and creamy. Then add the granulated sugar, salt, and unsweetened vegan yogurt or sour cream. Beat well to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Combine cranberry and cream cheese mixtures: Add the finely chopped cranberry mixture to the bowl with the cream cheese blend. Mix thoroughly until the dip is uniform in texture and color.
  4. Serve and store: Serve the dip immediately with crackers or bread for dipping. Store leftovers in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to two days. Stir well before serving again.

Notes

  • Philadelphia vegan cream cheese is recommended, but Violife, Miyoko’s, and Tofutti brands also work well.
  • Use unsweetened and unflavored vegan yogurt or vegan sour cream to maintain the dip’s balanced flavor profile.
  • The recipe works with homemade vegan cream cheese or tofu cream cheese alternatives.
  • Omit sugar for a less sweet version, and omit dried cranberries if you want a tarter, less sweet dip.
