Sandwich Ingredients
- 16 slices crustless bread
- 8 slices cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, gouda, or edam)
- 8 slices deli ham
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise (or to your liking)
- Mustard (optional, to taste)
Instructions
- Prepare the base: Spread mayonnaise evenly on 8 slices of bread to add moisture and flavor.
- Assemble sandwiches: Place a slice of cheese and a slice of deli ham on each mayonnaise-spread bread slice.
- Add mustard (optional): Spread a little mustard on top of the ham for added zest, if desired.
- Top sandwiches: Cover each with a remaining slice of bread to complete the sandwich.
- Cut into shapes: Using a tree-shaped cookie cutter, cut out 2 Christmas trees from each sandwich, creating festive mini sandwiches.
Notes
- You can use bread with crust and remove it yourself if needed. Wholegrain bread works well as a substitute for white bread—just ensure it is thinly sliced.
- Choose any cheese you prefer like cheddar, mozzarella, gouda, or edam to customize the flavor.
- If your deli ham slices are very thin, use two slices per sandwich to maintain a good filling thickness.
- Mustard is optional and can be omitted if not preferred.
