Ingredients
Scale
Coating Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg, beaten
- ¾ cup panko breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Green Beans
- 1 pound fresh green beans (about 40 beans), washed and trimmed
Additional
- cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly spray a large half sheet baking pan with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Coatings: Place the flour in one mixing bowl and the beaten egg in another. In a shallow dish, combine panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and ground black pepper.
- Flour Coating: Toss the green beans in the flour to lightly coat each bean, then shake off any excess flour to avoid clumps in the final crust.
- Egg Dip: Dip the floured green beans into the beaten egg, allowing the excess egg to drip off before moving to the next step.
- Breading: Toss the egg-coated green beans into the panko mixture, pressing firmly so that the breadcrumb mixture sticks well to the beans.
- Arrange on Baking Pan: Place the breaded green beans in a single layer on the prepared baking pan. Lightly spray the coated beans with cooking spray to help with browning and crispiness.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes or until the green bean fries are golden-brown and crispy, turning once if desired for even cooking.
Notes
- Make sure the green bean fries cool completely before storing to prevent sogginess. Store in an airtight container lined with paper towels.
- If condensation appears inside the container lid, the fries are not cooled enough and may become soggy.
- Green bean fries will keep in the refrigerator for up to four days when stored properly.
- To reheat, use an oven, toaster oven, or air fryer. Preheat to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, space the fries apart, and heat for about 5 minutes or until warmed through and crispy again.
