Description

Mummy Pizza is a fun and festive twist on classic pizza, perfect for Halloween parties or a spooky snack. Ciabatta rolls are topped with pizza sauce, thin ribbons of zucchini, mozzarella cheese strips arranged like mummy bandages, and olive slices for eyes, then baked until melted and toasty.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 2 ciabatta rolls
  • 1 cup pizza sauce

Toppings

  • 1 zucchini
  • 4 mozzarella string cheese
  • 8 black olive slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven. Preheat the oven to 400°F to ensure it’s ready for baking the pizzas evenly.
  2. Prepare the bread and toppings. Cut each ciabatta roll in half lengthwise. Use a vegetable peeler to create thin ribbon slices from the zucchini. Pull the mozzarella string cheese into thin strips to resemble mummy bandages.
  3. Assemble the pizzas. Place the ciabatta halves on a baking sheet. Spread pizza sauce evenly on each piece. Layer the zucchini ribbons across the bread in criss-cross patterns, then lay the mozzarella strips over the zucchini at different angles to mimic mummy bandages. Add two black olive slices on each piece to create eyes.
  4. Bake the pizzas. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the bread is toasted to a golden crisp.
  5. Serve. Remove from the oven and serve immediately for best taste and texture.

Notes

  • This pizza is best enjoyed fresh out of the oven for optimal cheese meltiness and bread crispness.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated before serving.
  • You can substitute zucchini with thinly sliced bell peppers or mushrooms if desired.
  • For a spicier kick, add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes before baking.
