Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper to prepare for baking the cookies.
  2. Make Dough: In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, and canola oil. Mix until a cohesive dough forms, ensuring all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  3. Portion Cookies: Use a medium cookie scoop to portion the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing cookies about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading.
  4. Bake Cookies: Bake the cookies for 11 minutes or until the edges are set and slightly golden. Remove from oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Prepare Buttercream: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and 1 tablespoon of milk or cream, beating until smooth. Add more milk as needed to reach a spreadable consistency.
