Ingredients

Units Scale

Base

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 5.3 ounces nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt

Fruit

  • 1 medium frozen banana (about 3 oz/91g)
  • 5 frozen sliced strawberries (about 2.5 oz/70g)
  • 5 apple slices (about 2.5 oz/76g)

Optional

  • Sweetener of choice, as needed
  • Protein powder, optional

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Slice and freeze the banana and strawberries at least 2 hours in advance if not already frozen. Prepare apple slices fresh.
  2. Add Liquids and Yogurt: Pour the unsweetened vanilla almond milk into the blender, followed by the nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt.
  3. Add Fruit: Add the frozen banana, frozen strawberries, and fresh apple slices to the blender.
  4. Blend Smooth: Blend all ingredients until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  5. Adjust and Serve: Taste and add sweetener or protein powder if desired, blend again briefly, then serve immediately. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Freeze banana and strawberries at least 2 hours beforehand to ensure a cold, thick smoothie.
  • Use any nondairy milk, nonfat milk, water, or apple juice as the liquid base.
  • Nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt is preferred but plain or flavored yogurts of any fat content work well.
  • Fuji or Gala apples are recommended, but any preferred apple variety is fine.
  • For added sweetness, include honey, agave, or stevia to taste.
  • Boost protein by adding a scoop of your favorite protein powder.
